Karl Ratzsch’s | 320 E Mason St • Milwaukee

With roots dating back to 1904, Karl Ratzsch’s has long been a Milwaukee favorite -- and it one of the few genuine German restaurants left in the city.  Reservations are generally needed, and Ratzsch’s is closed Sundays.

Mader’s | 1872 Commerce St • Milwaukee

Known as much for the stunning array of antiques and artwork as it’s food, Mader’s is still a quality dining experience in Milwaukee over 100 years later.  Opened in 1902, Mader’s is now Milwaukee’s oldest restaurant.

Kegel’s Inn | 5901 W National Ave • West Allis

Great for a Friday fish fry (one of the favorites in town, in fact) or just for a couple of drinks.  Kegel’s has been a Milwaukee staple since 1924!

Old German Beer Hall | 1009 N Old World 3rd St • Milwaukee

A casual, lively experience with beers of the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. The Milwaukee version was opened in 2005 and is especially enjoyable for the younger audiences.  The soft pretzel with cheese is to die for!

Historic Turner Restaurant | 1034 N 4th St • Milwaukee

Also serves American food, but the Turner’s building is a historic 1883 Landmark located across from the Bradley Center.  Also a great spot for a Milwaukee Friday Fish Fry.  Definitely a cheaper version of a Milwaukee German dinner.
